Terms and conditions


By ordering your ticket for the Perfect Crime festival (for the benefit of doubt including tickets for our crime writing workshop) you confirm that you have read and accept the following Terms and Conditions in their entirety.

Terms and Conditions


1.1. Tickets for the Perfect Crime festival are made available by the festival organiser, Stories Unlimited C.I.C., and once your order has been received and accepted this creates a legally binding contract between you and Stories Unlimited C.I.C.

1.2 Once your order has been received and accepted you will receive a confirmation email. Confirmation will be deemed to have been effectively communicated to you when this email is sent (whether or not you receive such communication). It is your responsibility to contact us if you do not receive this confirmation email. If you have any questions about confirmation of your order you can contact us through this website.

1.3 Orders cannot be accepted until we have received cleared funds for the total cost of the ticket, including booking fee.

1.4 Once an order is confirmed, tickets cannot be transferred, exchanged or refunded.

1.5 Should the Perfect Crime festival be cancelled for reasons beyond our control details will be posted on this website and emailed to ticket holders to the email address given at the time of ordering.


2.1 Once your order has been accepted you will receive an electronic ticket to the email address you gave when making the order.

2.2 You must have your electronic ticket with you when you arrive at the registration desk for the Perfect Crime festival. If you do not have your electronic ticket with you, you will not be granted entry to the Perfect Crime festival.

2.3 If you change the email address or telephone number you used when making your order, it is your responsibility to notify us.

2.4 If you have mislaid or lost your electronic ticket, you must notify us by email at least 48 hours before the day of the Perfect Crime festival.


3.1 Stories Unlimited C.I.C. and its agents reserve the right to refuse entry to the Perfect Crime festival, at all times, at their discretion, for reasons including but not limited to health and safety or security.

3.2 Stories Unlimited C.I.C. and its agents will not accept any abusive behaviour towards staff, volunteers, guests or festival attendees. Anyone who is deemed by Stories Unlimited C.I.C. or its agents to be acting in an abusive manner will be ejected from the festival, and no refunds will be given.


4.1 Guest authors at the Perfect Crime festival are subject to work and personal commitments, and may change without notice. We cannot offer refunds due to the non-attendance of a particular guest author or authors.

4.2 Stories Unlimited C.I.C. and its agents do not accept liability for any indirect or consequential loss of any kind in contract, tort or otherwise arising out of the use of this website or the purchase of the tickets or other goods or services from us by whatever means.

4.3 Stories Unlimited C.I.C. and its agents do not accept liability for any loss or damage that is caused by any event or circumstances beyond our reasonable control.

4.4. To the fullest extent permitted by law Stories Unlimited C.I.C. and its agents will not be responsible for loss, damage or injury to any person or their property howsoever caused.

4.5 Where Stories Unlimited C.I.C. is deemed to be responsible for loss, damage or injury, damages will be limited to the maximum public liability insurance cover held by Stories Unlimited C.I.C. at the time.


5.1 Information about you including your name, address, telephone number, email address is held by us, credit/debit card details are not held by us. The information we do hold is needed to process the transaction and fulfil your order and any subsequent problems or disputes.

5.2 We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information to third parties for marketing purposes.


6.1 Stories Unlimited C.I.C. reserves the right to update or otherwise change these terms and conditions or amend this website at any time and without notice to you. We recommend you revisit the website regularly to check for any updates.

6.2 Stories Unlimited C.I.C. and its agents take no responsibility for any event or action that arises from your decision to use any part of this website.

(i) These terms and conditions shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of England and Wales.

(ii) If any provision of these terms and conditions is held to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall not be affected. No waiver of any breach shall be deemed a waiver of any subsequent breach.


(i) Still and video photography is permitted in all public areas unless signs or staff or volunteers indicate otherwise.

(ii) All still and video photography taken during the Perfect Crime Festival will be deemed in the public domain and cannot be used for commercial purposes unless by prior agreement with Stories Unlimited C.I.C.

(iii) The use of still and video photography is not permitted during the crime writing workshop.

(iv) Video photography taken during a panel cannot exceed 2 minutes in duration, and no more than a total of 5 minutes of video can be taken of any one panel.

(v) The taking of any still or video photography must not impede the enjoyment of other festival goers, including but not limited to any camera equipment obscuring the view of other festival goers during a panel.

(vi) Free standing equipment and the use of flash photography is not permitted during any panel.

(vii) The use of power sockets requires the permission of Stories Unlimited C.I.C.

(viii) Anyone person in breach of the above rules for still and video photography will be given a verbal warning and an opportunity to remedy such a breach. In the event of a subsequent breach of these rules, the person will be immediately ejected from the festival and no refunds will be given.
